Wrong! typical Mopar hater. John Platner was a supervisor and lead engineer for Chrysler during WW2. His group started testing the Hemi design on two large engines during WW2. A V-12 for tanks and a V-16 for aircraft. After the war Chrysler continued it's testing of Hemi engines for cars. Chrysler might not have invented the hemispherical combustion chamber but it was Chrysler that perfected it and was the first to mass produce it. If you don't believe me you can read for yourself. Here's a link. www.rodsandwheels.org/emagazine.php?flag=show_story&toc_id=46The hemi can be traced back to at least 1903 in Europe. The 1903 Premier engine had a gear-driven overhead cam, roller cam followers, and crossflow hemi heads. There is supposedly one in the Speedway museum in Indy. 440 LOLLOL... Just wanted to aggravate the mopar fans... They are so "special". If it weren't for you guys, I wouldnt have anyone to pick on... MUAHAHA BTW, I read the same research you did on the various sites and Wikipedia was VERY thorough. I just chose to misquote it as you mopar types normally do... I figured it would help you understand what I wrote... The thing is, even though you and I both know the truth, some of the people that read this kind of stuff don't know the difference. They will take it as the truth and spread it without checking into it. I'm just keeping it real. ;D

Quoting the famous Jack Nicholson... "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"What movie was that from and... are you sure he wasn't talking to Chevy lovers also? Seriously, glad you looked that up about the 1903 Hemi. I knew it but didn't want to take the time to try and find it. Thanks.

what did the chevy say to the ford . hey ford the reason that mopar started to cross the road in 1950 was because he is so slow to get to the other side by 2009 he would need atlest 50+ years that is if he did not rust away before he made it ford oh thank you i think if i want to get there i should start today and bring lots of extra parts as i will get stuck along the way i may make it by say 2020 i hope ....

Seriously, glad you looked that up about the 1903 Hemi. I knew it but didn't want to take the time to try and find it. Thanks. Actually, it was Col. Jessup being played by Jack Nickolson in the movie "A Few Good Men". The hotshot lawyer was really Donald Marcari, I know of him, he runs a local lawfirm here in Virginia Beach, mostly ambulance chasers. The movie was based on his VERY FIRST case, (I believe the corps was hoping he would fail). Macari left the corps because of issues after the case. (I suspect it was repercussion for busting the Colonel: if you think you are safe from repercussions in the Military, you never served.) The kid in real life did not get killed but was nearly killed. Anyway, Jessup drove a Chevy, so I suspect he was talking to Ford and Mopar fans... who could not handle the truth... ;D MUAHAHAH

we eat rice with pushrods around here If those pushrods came out of a ford, gm or dodge, then that's all they are good for... eatin rice... MUAHAHAH ;D ;D ;D In fact, the last american made engine I had came out of a 2001 Buick Regal GS.. what a POS. Before that it was a 66 Dart 273... last decent american made engine I owned. My 2008 GMC 2500 has an Isuzu engine (Duramax), my 1997 Ford F250 had a Canadian Powerstroke engine both were diesels and the finest engines I have driven... seems like american engineering is in decay....Yeah, Im bummed about that.. I used to love "American Made" slogan... now I cringe hoping I didn't get raped by plastic intakes or other "innovative" crap... Hopefully, someday we will make a comeback but even today's winningest racers arent racing Big 3. Instead they are using old designs of iron made by aftermarket groups.. even Nascar doesnt use Big3 engines... I love the sentiment you all have but I havent seen any winning drag "IRL" race with a Off-the-shelf engine... even they use custom made... sux Thanks Dan
