I think the clay is my least favorite part but the payoff is always worth it. Â Â Yes I agree with that for sure. I always kinda stress over the mold mixing. I know that if I miscalculate anything I will have a mess. It's never happened but I'm a little OCD and make damn sure I got it right before mixing . But I am claying these both up today. Â Â How often do you run your car Adam? What ET are you running? Oh I've done that once. I didn't mix enough hardener. What a mess it is indeed. I won't do it again I can tell you that. Unfortunately I took the last 2 years off racing. Life you know. The monte in that picture was running 10.60s at 120ish but the new engine combo is 8.70s at 150ish. It also has most of the stock interior (its a ex super stock car) and guess what.. it's blue like everyone elses.

I purposely sought out a blue interior Monte. Like them much better than the maroon. The blue and white 2 tone interior is really sharp.

The Eagle Racing 2017 ATS-V is done. I got some clear on it Sunday. I cannot remember the purple color. It is a Santee or Zoya lacquer polish, the black is Duplicolor lacquer, clear is Automotive Restoration one part clear with Interference pearl powder added. I was going for the "ghost flame" effect. The pictures don't do it justice. It actually turned out better than I thought it would......which usually doesn't happen . I still have a few small details to complete, but it is done for the most part. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. It could potentially be a race prize???

At times it can be really difficult to capture the full beauty of a car in a photo. Especially one that has some subtle details. Some cars that are simply stunning in the sunlight look plain Jane in the pictures. (not talkin bout your Caddy!) Any photography buffs out there that could teach some old dogs a few tricks?

'85 Monte Carlo and '67 C10 Pickup 1st castings are out of the mold. Pictured are the "masters" and the 1st casting. They turned out nice....no issues. I will have some of these ready for the Texas Nationals. Now that I am motivated I am going to remold some of my old castings with improvements. I also have a couple of other casting projects I want to do soon.

Things are moving in the AJR garage in an effort to get ready for the Smoky Mountain Tyco Event. As it turns out, the new '85 Monte Carlo 4g casting sits almost perfect on the Tyco wide pan long wheelbase set up. So I adapted the mounts and am trying to get some paint on it this weekend. The other body is an Eagle Racing 2000ish Pro Stock Grand Prix. Finishing up the body mounts on it today and will at least get it into primer. Looking forward to the race!

I noticed that the monte fits on the Viper chassis really nicely as well.
