Congrats JJ and Mac! You guys earned it. Thanks Rick and crew, another fantastic job. I've got to get my track done, I could've caught the problems with my cars if it was. Great season guys. It's been a a lot of fun.

Congrats on the win , Jeff ! Another hard running car !
Doug , if you can run over and wake me up or change the channel....... I'm dreaming or the twilight zone is on.......... my funny cars won 3 heats, one went to 3rd round and lost by 6 hundreths to Eagle's # 1 qualifier. Wait ! It gets crazier......... one heat was a win against , Jeff's new car. I tired of this already........ want to know how my P/stk did. If this iss real my world turned upside down today.
Rick, thanks again to you and crew for putting on a great show ! Thanks to all the sponsors & Cordell also. Fantastic way to wrap up season ! .......... Peter

Post-Race AwardsFollowing the conclusion of eliminations at the NTRA Finals, Nostalgia Pro Stock winner 79Malibu and Nostalgia Funny Car winner JJWallace had appointments with Chief Tech Inspector Buster Chops. Buster has earned his reputation as a hard-nosed tech guy who goes by the book. So it should come as no surprise that after checking chassis, armatures, brushes, tires, and other components, both cars were found to be in compliance with the rules for their respective classes. Therefore the results of the 2014 NTRA Finals are now official. Congratulations to Nostalgia Pro Stock winner 79Malibu. His gold-and-burgundy Vega qualified No. 2 in a very tough field, and ran the Low ET and Top Speed of eliminations. Well done! JJWallace won the Nostalgia Funny Car title with his Twisted Texan Pinto, keeping the NFC trophy in the Lone Star State for another year. JJ has raced at Lions since 2011, and today he scored his first victory in an intensely competitive category. Angry Jeff is smiling tonight! The ace Lions crew selected PhantomBSE to receive the Best in Show trophy for his breakout performance this weekend. In Nostalgia Pro Stock, the Phantom qualified two cars in the Top Six, and his concours-quality Project Six-Pack Road Runner and Grumpy's Toy Camaro both advanced to the semi-final round. In Nostalgia Funny Car, Phantom's entries qualified fourth and fifth, and his Vega went to the semi-final round where it lost on a holeshot. A great showing from the Phantom! The Stevie Ray Vaughn Double Trouble White Lightning Tribute Truck modeled by Kdog was awarded to SJRacer for the Best Appearing Cars in Nostalgia Pro Stock. His Bill Jenkins Vega and Bruce Larson Vega scored high marks with the Lions crew for their authenticity and accuracy. The Bad News Fiat AA/Fuel Altered modeled by Kdog was awarded to JJWallace for Best Appearing Car in Nostalgia Funny Car. In a field that had too many box-stock AutoWorld bodies, JJ's late-model Mustang stood out for its originality and attention to detail. Great job, Angry Jeff! That's a wrap from Lions Drag Strip. Thanks to all of the drivers, teams, mechanics, and car owners who made the 2014 NTRA Finals a success. May all your lights be green and all your race cars be fast!

I would like to thank all for the good words. Thank you Rick again for a great event and for the Best Appearing Car Award. That is the first time I've ever won that. Trust me...the win was more than enough, but that completely put it over the top for me. Phantom.....I say again....outstanding job this race and this year. I know you had at least (6) of the top running cars that you built for this race. I also know that you've done that several times throughout the year. I know how much time I spend setting up and tuning my couple of cars to have them run well. Multiply that by 2 or 3 and that's what you are doing. Very impressive. Eagle Racing has also done that throughout the year as well. It's one thing to just build these cars, but to consistently build that many cars and have them run well is not an easy thing. Congrats to everyone on the forum for a great year of racing. Our core group has been together for a few years now and we are kind of like a detached family. Families have squabbles from time to time like we do here, but it's all good. I enjoy racing and conversing with each and every one of you. Thanks and looking forward to next year.
Jeff

Thanks for the kind words JJ, It's just a labor of love for the sport. I'd have to say Eagle is the Mad Scientist of HO racing right now LOL.

All of the haulers are headed for home. Here's hoping that the crews got their cars in the right trucks after the post-race party in the pits. Phyllis the Mail Lady has tracking numbers, and will be watching to see if any of the truck drivers take a detour to the Mustang Ranch on their way home.
Check your boxes when they arrive. It's like Cracker Jacks -- there could be a surprise inside!
Safe travels, Racemaster Rick
