2019 NTRA Winter Nationals at Bear Creek DragwayI have some unfinished business to take care of and then I will bring closure to the event. There are two awards left to be given to the proper recipients. First......For the lowest ET during the Kiwi Challenge the Low Qualifier ball cap goes to.....JJWallace Twisted Texan PintoThe Pinto laid down a blistering .8850 on the very first pass of the Kiwi Challenge. Which also broke the previous track record of .8998 (held by the Pinto). Backup run of + or - 1% was made on the next pass at .8927.Congratulations!!Last thing to do now is award Best in Show. LOTS of nice cars guys and gals. It's really nice to have so many customs to look at, admire, and choose from. It really came down to three cars.....and then two.....and then one. I was looking for the total package.....not just the paint work. This one caught my eye from the start. And the winner is..........Gnome with his Jimmy Flintstone '58 Impala Nomad Super clean paint job and build! The chassis is spot on. The detached front axle is pretty much perfect. Stance....colors....cool wheelie bars. It is well deserved! Congratulations Jeff!!

Once again, the race is over and I'm spent. It's long days to do a race...at least the way I want to do it. It's all worthwhile when I know it is enjoyed by my fellow racers here on Nitroslots. No BS guys........it is an honor to be trusted with all of your cars. They are handled with kit gloves the whole time they are at Bear Creek. I appreciate everyone that entered! You guys and gals make the race. Thanks to everyone for the good words throughout the event. I have to thank GTS for his artwork and efforts in creating the trophy plaques and for the other goodies that were sent. The Winners are going to love them. Also want to thank Hairy Canary for his Kiwi Challenge trophy helmet and Low Qualifier cast ball cap. Those were both his ideas and are super duper COOL!! He also sent some of his highly sought after resins that we all miss so much! Mazda sent some very cool Santa Pod stickers from the UK to send back with everyone. Thank you Thank you! Angry Jeff Racing will also be sending back some small parts containers. Congratulations to our winners!

Christine is running a JL chassis. The gears are pretty sloppy but they are light weight, if you can find a good one it will be quick. Just don't put it in a haunted car. While prepping some cars for a bit of road track racing, all of my JL chassis' turned out to be warped. The front left wheel on each was higher than the others. Front tire sizes had to be staggered to make all 4 wheels touch the ground at the same time. Guess all of that massive torque unleashed when they launched at the drag strip has twisted the frames. They can corner like sprint cars, with the front left in the air.

Congratulations Gnome for best in show and Jeff for going Low in the Kiwi Challenge plus setting a new track record. Gnome I have a couple of those bodies and what you did to yours is very cool. Like Jeff said perfect stance and very clean. I like how you did the wheelie bar too. Nice Job. I want to thank Jeff again for putting on a Super Race. Now it’s time to start getting ready for Daves Spring Nationals.

I was wondering what needy country was going to get the loosing USA Kiwi Challenge Plaques ? I figured must be like the NFL and MLB ? After the Super Bowl or World Sieres they send the T shirts and hats from the loosing teams to needy countries like Zambia, Bosnia, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Just some stupid stuff that goes through my head Rick

When you stand behind one of those and see nothing but tire, whoa. it is has a timeless quality to the design of the body. Its sexy.

Tjet Gasser Semi Finals
Race 13 Great race! The lights drop and the Chevelle is out first. The Falcon likes to eat on the big end but it runs out of track. 2mph faster than the Chevelle but Dave632 moves into the Finals with his #1 qualifier. .7112et to .7
Race 14 No noises this time from Christine, but the performance continues to fall off like a rock. Meanwhile the Corvette is holding strong and looks ready to meet Dave632 in the Finals for the second day in a row. .6969et to .7773et.
Eric said Dave lifted at the line and Hairy was on it thru the trap. The Falcon is squatting on its rear. Perfect Dude. What a great photo.

Thanks again for hosting another great event Jeff. Always a pleasure to compete a Bear Creek. Congrats to the winners in class and well done to the runner ups. Very cool wagon Gnome and deserved award! The Kiwi Challenge has always delivered great racing and this year was no exception. I was impressed with the numbers the cars were running. A few sub one second passes and lots of cars knocking on the sub one second numbers. Congrats on another track record Jeff. The twisted Texan has become the "Birdman" of 4 gear stock racing. No one wants to race the Texan!! Thanks to all the racers for entering, again it is the racers that make these events possible.

One more thing regarding the Winter Nationals..........
I sat down to go through the race and the information and find that there were several of the posted track records that were officially broken this weekend. Bear Creek Dragway requires a back up run be made that is within + or - 1%. Here they are.
Tjet Stock previous record 1.848 NEW record 1.2270 Dave632 GTO *record was backed up*
Tjet Gasser previous record .800 NEW .6852 Dave632 Chevelle *record was backed up*
4GO (pancake Comp) previous record .6561 NEW .6470 Hairy Canary "Aces Wild Willys" *record was backed up*
Congratulations for an exceptional job!
