Here's a shot of the car that inspired my Gasser entry. Alley Cat II is a tough competitor in the Southeast Gassers. Since he's a 57 Vette and wearing my color, how could I resist? . Wing Nut is a nickname other branches of the military often call Air Force personnel. Sorta like we called Marines, Jar Heads or Soldiers, Grunts. All in good fun of course. Thought you guys might enjoy some of the background. The 56/57 Corvette was and still is my favorite Corvette.

That's a bummer Rick,I wish I was close enough to help ya out, you've hooked me up enough times already. And I agree 100% Dave, Mopar has brought some back but they don't look so good on the "bloated" Challenger or on a 4 - door charger.A nice 2-tone 55 chevy rolling down the road will still turn almost every head on the street

Sorry this is so late . Please go to this link to view the chart for the ET's. It's at the bottom of the first post. That is the chart I will keep updated. Below is just the basic info.
TIME IT N" WIN IT Nows your chance to win one of Angry Jeff Racing's beautiful creations. All you gotta do is post in this thread what you think the ET of this fabulous Luv Pick Up will do. I will run it once in each lane at 20v and average the two ET's together and the result will be THE WINNING ET - One guess per entrant and one time per entrant, i.e., once an ET is guessed, it can't be guessed by anyone else. - In case of a tie, the lower ET wins. For example; person A guesses .973, person B guesses.975 and the prize car does an average ET of .974, person A would win.
This is open to all participants of the Hot August Nationals Note that I have added kiwidave & hairycanary because they are 2 of the 3 judges for Best In Show and are considered participants.
Okay here's the chart for the ET that you guess.
FORUM NAME OF ENTRANT ET OF CAR = 0.000 gibbo61 dave632 ecbill mazda kstocks nosubfor3 hilltopspeedway sjracer

Recently, I bought the Mickey Thompson Marines Grand AM which is really cool. It got me to wondering if there were any Air Force sponsored cars. There were Army & Navy but I don't recall any AF drag cars. That's what kinda got the ball rolling on the Wing Nut car.

Do you see the slightest hint of a smile on that face?

Are we privy to the car's spec's before guessing, i.e. is it a stock motor, what brushes are in it etc..,? Is there a deadline for guessing?

As far as I know it is a stock AW 4 gear and I won't be tearing into it to find out anything else Let's set the deadline for all guesses at Friday midnight pacific daylight savings time.

The chassis and parts are totally stock except rear rims and tires. Aluminum Pacific Slots wheelie wheels in front. Stock AFX wheels in the rear. Dont remember tire size, but it was taller than stock. Narrowed chassis and tuned.

Here's how the sponsorship is stacking up for the race so far .
- Tjet Gasser winner will receive the tjet Camaro body from ecbill and the tjet Willys body (everybody needs another Willys, right?) from Good Time Speedway. - NPS winner will receive a $10.00 Gift Certificate from Jim at Jag Hobbies. - 4GDS winner will receive a new AW 4 gear chassis from Good Time Speedway. - Best in Show winner will receive those really nice front & rear wheels from gibbo61. - All participants will get a pair of narrowed down Jag DR1 rear wheels from Good Time Speedway.
- All participants get a bag of 'O' ring front tires from gibbo61.
- And my personal favorite, the give-a-way Luv pick up "TroubleMaker" from Angry Jeff Racing. - Plus a box of goodies is on it's way from alpink to distribute among all the participants.
A Big Thank You to all the Sponsors!

Prayers to the gods of proxy racing to give our racemaster the stamina & focus to carry out his tasks at hand. He has assumed a huge mission which has already consmued much time & effort. Grant him the strength to carry on through the smell of burning lite oil and the sparks of pick-up rails that he endures, so we may gain the thrill of competition at his humble speedway from the comfort of our homes around the world. In the pursuit of low e.t.'s we pray ...........
