Good morning Racers and Race Fans!!
Wow! What a great weekend of proxy drag racing it's been so far. I am glad to see that the Classes are popular! They always have been. A little forum nostalgia brought back to life. Mountain Motor Pro Stock (Inline Comp rules) was a staple Class pre 2014 here as well as 4G Doorslammer (Comp rules). That 4G Class has basically become Four Gear Outlaw. But we haven't run MMPS in a very long time like I said Pre race on the Sign Up thread. The only thing that makes it Mountain Motor is the 26v. It's the same with 4G Unlimited. If we aren't running it at 26v then we should probably run something else. 26v should be the threshold. There is no need to go higher. That was based on what they were running at the battery powered Colorado tracks at the time. I know there were some concerns about voltage prior to the race but the Classes ran and there were no ill affects from it. It's hard on the gears, but that stands to reason. We can get around that easily in Inline. They are made for that. And for the first time we saw 4GU run without the carnage we are used to. The Class is definitely progressing and that's what it is about. Thank you to everyone for the enthusiasm. These Classes will run again. One last thing and I will shut up and get the race on...... I bring this up now because I didn't want anyone worrying about it during the race, but I want to address it for those who didn't want to ask or are in the same situation as I am. The subject......shut down area. Maybe some of you have noticed that Bear Creek Dragway has a short shut down area. That is my achilles heel. But I have pretty much perfected the layout of pre barrier cushions (towels) to where cars almost never make it to the back of the box (there were none this race even at 50mph). I do this after EVERY race! There was one major casualty of the race, but that had nothing to do with the shut down. I only have 3' to the hard wall. The track end cushions take up about 8" of that so there you have it. Getting a 50mph car stopped safely is important. What we DON'T want is cars coming to an abrupt stop. That destroys the gears, etc. I have two rolled up towels spaced apart in front of the end cushion. In front of that I have a towel laid out and accordioned. This allows the cars to "picked up" into the towel. The towel is a tight wound type so it doesn't get wrapped up in any of the gears. The cars are lifted off the track and roll up into it and then into the two cushions and then into the box if they make it that far. It has been very effective. Eagle Racing was doing this at Blacktop Raceway and I've been doing it like that ever since. But I will say that this is the threshold of what I'm comfortable running. I don't know.........maybe I will cut a hole in the wall and run the shut down into the driveway. That could actually be done. OK I'm done. Maybe I didn't need to say all of that, but when we are running cars this fast I realize there are some concerns. I have run these Classes comfortably here many times before just not on the Max Trax. Great racing guys. Thank you for trusting me with your cars. It is truly an honor to race them. I really mean that!
OK let me do a little organizing and clean the track and I will be back with Pro Street Outlaw shortly.....

Today is Outlaw Day!!The last cars still to be run are Pro Street Outlaw and Four Gear Outlaw. These are our highly competitive Top Ten Lists that have been ongoing for many years now. Currently Dave632 is sitting on top of both Lists. That is quite an accomplishment considering the level of slot car builders we have. Congratulations Dave! I think those cars need names . But he has the target on him. That's what being #1 brings. For this meeting we have two cars in each Shark Pool. I like to see that racers are trying to get on these Lists. We have a full house of Outlaw Cars.....now it's time to get it on.Calling Pro Street Outlaw to the line

Pro Street Outlaw Round 1 Call Outs
CO 1 Shark Pool Jbailey vs Gibbo61 for chance to CO #10 spot This was a good race. The Roadrunner is pretty strong and could make some moves today. Gibbo will make it out of the Shark Pool and calls out #10. Jbailey's Challenger will get a chance to race again in Round 2. .6697et to .7777et.
CO 2 Gibbo vs Chris for #10 spot Roadrunner slows a little but is still able to get it done and take the #10 spot. Gibbo is on the List. Chris was not too far off pace but drops to the Shark Pool and will have another chance to race out in Round 2. .6907et to .7271et.
CO 3 Finistauri vs Kstocks for the #7 spot The flamed Nomad is a runner on this race day and takes the #7 spot decisively. Finistauri could shake things up. Kstocks lays down a good pass, just not quite good enough. .6062et to .6513et.
CO 4 Ecbill vs Nosubfor3 for #5 spot These two are List veterans and have raced each other many times before. It could go either way. The Vette blisters the track with the first sub .6 pass of the day to keep the #5 spot and CO Mazda at the #4 spot. Ecbill lays down another solid pass but will stay at #6. .5757et to .6439et.

Pro Street Outlaws Round 1 (continued)
CO 5 Nosubfor3 vs Mazda for #4 spot Blue Silk is running very good today and could make a mess of the top 5. Nosub will take the #4 spot from Mazda and he will drop to #5. .5773et to .6398et.
CO 6 Gnome vs JJWallace for #2 spot The Dream Crusher gets out first but the Grimace Charger keeps it there and just starts to get some back as they cross the finish. Both cars keep their spots and JJ will call out Dave for #1. .6299et to .6332et.
CO 7 JJWallace vs Dave632 for the #1 spot These two have raced many times before. Dave has JJ's number most of the time. If the '55 is running like normal, JJ is not going to have anything for him today. But this is racing and anything can happen. The light comes on and the both leave together but Dave immediately jumps out several car lengths and that's all JJ sees from there on.......Belaire taillights. Dave stays at #1! .5994et vs .6346et.
Next up Four Gear Outlaws........

Four Gear Outlaw Round 1 Call Outs
CO 1 Gibbo61 vs Finistauri Shark Pool Whole lotta screeching going on in that one. Good race but the cars are off the pace. Dolly will take the vacated #10 spot and Belvedere will stay in the Shark Pool till the next round. 1.0302et to 1.0890et.
CO 2 Finistauri vs Chriskingsley65 for #9 spot Now we know where the screeching was coming from. It's Finistauri's car. I'm not sure what's going on with it. It doesn't need oiling. He will stay at #10 while the Studebaker will call out JJWallace #8. .8182et to 1.2554
CO 3 Chriskingsley vs JJWallace for #8 spot Shaker Vega makes a solid pass to keep the #8 spot. Chris is consistent but will need to find some more power between rounds. JJ will call out #7. .7316et to .7791et.
CO 4 JJWallace vs GTS for #7 spot Nashsty Nash cannot hold off the Vega this time. JJ will take the spot and move GTS back to #8 .7252et to .7791et
CO 5 Ecbill vs Mazda for the #4 spot Ecbill wants to move back up this ladder. Mazda is a recent #1 car and wants to get back up there. The Wing Nut Vette gets the Holeshot and that's all it took. Texas Drifter will drop to #5 and Ecbill takes over #4. .7259et to .7546et.
CO 6 Skillet vs Gnome for #2 spot Closest race of the day! Both drivers wanted this one bad! The '57 lead at every interval but the Monza came by him at the light. Both cars keep their spots and Gnome will call out #1. .6957et to .7007et.
CO 7 Gnome vs Dave632 for #1 Dave shows why he's #1 and lays down a mid .6 pass to stay #1. The Monza was right there though and will give it a try next round. .6695et to .6995et.

Pro Street Outlaw Round 2 (continued)

R2 CO 7 Nosubfor3 vs Gnome for #3 spot Blue Silk is silky smooth as it makes it's best pass to end the weekend at #3 spot. Gnome will drop to #4. .5732et to .6234et.
R2 CO 8 JJWallace vs Dave632 for #1 spot Did JJ find some more power....nope. Dave easily holds down the #1 spot and continues his reign at the top!! .6187et to .6496et.
