Yes, the brushes will eventually get oil saturated. Changing them usually cures the problem. 4 gears are the toughest of all the chassis to get running well. They are generally .03-.06 slower than a 3 gear with the same armature. I see you run a full-size Camaro drag car. I used to run a 68 Camaro in the past, it had a Big M 632 in it with Edlebrock heads and a single 1150 King Demon. Ran 9 teens on motor and mid 8s with one 200 shot fogger. 68 wheelie

hold the brush with a tweezer and put a flame to it until it turns orange. it will spit and sputter as the oil bakes out of it. put it in safe place to cool. clean the carbon off the contact area facing the commutator by rubbing it on a plain piece of printer paper and it is as good as new. until it gets too worn to make contact.

I'd love to have a 1st gen but I'll have to make due with the 3rd and 4th gen. My 3rd gen is a slow bracket car. Best I've been in it is 11.68 but I weight it down and go 12.00 at 116 which catches people off guard with the mph. You guys have been a big help. I cleaned up the brushes and realized that I switched the chassis and never took out the one magnet and with the tires I'm uses it was causing the chassis to rub the track. It won't set any records but at least I'm moving in the right direction.

11.6 is very respectable. That's about the time a new Corvette runs, and they cost about 80K.

If you host a race just...
Don't do it in winter so it's easier for me to come help if you need.
Stick with 2 classes for your first go at it. May not seem like alot, but it most definitely is.
Reach out to other Racemaster to get a feel of how they run their race. This is the best thing I did before my first race I held. Every one is different. By seeing/learning how each of us do our race you can kind of hand pick ideas from us all to fit an easy race format before you even get started. There is no jumping the gun. If your thinking about it you can start asking questions now. Me and the others have no problem answering what we can.
I'm guessing I'm the closest to you ,so you can sign me up to help.
