There were several comments about the poor quality of the Deluxe pit kit chassis quality during our builds. That seems to be pretty wide spread among the TJet kits. Having built several of the Xtraction AFX and 4Gear kits, I’m not finding the same problems. Some of them are running .9s right out of the box. One Xtraction is running in the high .8s. Numbers are at 20v on 1000’ scale track. The “slow” ones are running in the 1.0 to 1.1 range.

That's a shame that I bought ten 4-gear chassis here and there when they were on sale. All of them barely run. Ten duds for sure.
I'm commited to figuring out the duds before buying chassis number eleven. I refuse to spend more money on another 4-gear chassis.
Pete has offered to help me. I just need to get through a few personal challenges before my training starts.

Been grabbing up every Deluxe pit kit that I could get my hands on. Full chassis plus a paintable body for $12.99 seems like a bargain. Saw 3 Mustang pit kits today at HL and left them on the peg. Did pick up a Cuda F/C 4gear. The tjet chassis in the kits are pretty crappy. Figured a Dash is much better for a few $ more. |
