Opening night! Just saying gets a bit of a stir going doesn’t it? If you have been with us for the whole ride, congratulate yourself. NTRA and Psychoslots enters its third full year of proxy drag race competition. Some new faces are here and most of the familiar ones as well. If you are new here, let me first say hello and welcome. You will find a group of dedicated competitors who happen to have become by way of the internet and our fascination with the smallest of race cars.
Consider this to be the toy department. None of us here have ever quite embraced the idea of ‘growing up’ and aren’t ashamed to play with toys. If its your first visit to Psychoslots I want to be sure you understand one thing above all. This hobby can be enjoyed as inexpensively as you choose. While we specialize in drag racing here, we appreciate all facets of auto racing, auto building, hot rodding and custom cars as well. We express this interest and love through our midget rides.
Opening night! Yes the season finally arrives. Better races we hope, better prizes, more fun. Even if you don’t participate you can follow the action here. On race night Chima, the ‘voice’ of PSD delivers real time updates, race by race.
Opening Night! Renewing old acquaintances, renewing old rivalries. This year we will keeping points to determine a Champion. A secondary Chase will take place and be based on round wins only………….you guys who are in Class B and Class C have equal opportunity to win this one. These two races should be fun. Who do YOU think should be favored to take it all? Maybe we will start a poll and update it race by race.
As unpredictable as Proxy drag racing can be, one trend is certain. The quickest cars are not far from the winners circle when it is all said and done. It’s a tribute to the proxy drivers at each local strip. Of course, I like the unpredictability factor. In proxy racing we are all builders and team owners. We trust others to take us to victory. Another constant is that the builders who work the hardest, usually have the quickest cars. Figures, right? Yet, with our unique style of competition, while they have the advantage they have no lock on winning.
We are excited by the prospect of the coming year. We have four races set and this year scheduled well ahead, with venues chosen. I am pleased to be part of this group, and appreciate the friendly atmosphere at Psyhcoslots.
Having said that, friendship ends at the starting line……………..Gentlemen, start your engines!
