Test N Tune not a big turn out, only two cars. Tazman was the only racer to send cars. So lets show a few pics first. First two pics tazman Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car. Here is a pic of Tazman Funny Car being looked over by NTRA Officals. The Alanabi Top Fuel Dragster is built by Jeff Wallace one of your co host. The Copart Top Fuel Dragster is built by Eagle Racing. We did these two cars to give everyone an idea of some different times. Now to the times: Tazman Funny Car - .976 Tazman T/F - 1.063 (this car has ceramic magnets and stock shoes) After some adjustments which will be in a PM to Tazman the car ran a .875 The other two test cars are as follow. Jeff Wallace - .734 this is with polymers Eagle Racing - .674 with polymers This concludes Test N Tune.

Forgot to say that the Top Fuel times were all done with the AW stock dragster tires. These rubber tires can be sanded true. Be sure to true the fronts also any casting bumps need to be sanded off. I believe that with some more work on my dragster the high .5s could be reached, at the very least low .6s. Anyway I am excited to see what the rest of the Top Fuel racer have done with there cars. We should see some outstanding times. ;D For those of you lurking in the background if you think your faster entry the race and prove it ;D ;D. You still have almost 2 months to get ready. Oh hype aside please remember we are the host we are not racing. WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU DO NOT BE SHY SEND A PM TO ME. I WILL HELP YOU ANYWAY I CAN.

Tazman...... I have to disagree with you on that. I built my own T/F car as per the rules just for fun and ran it at the test n tune. It ran a .734 at that time. It was the first time I had ever used poly mags. I did my own research prior to doing that to find out what I needed to do to make that setup run. I had braids, lapped gears, I cleaned up the chassis holes, etc. There was a noticable difference in the performance between ceramics and polys. The tips that were given to you were a sincere effort to give you info to make your cars faster. There were other tips given that I did not see implemented for the race. For instance, I think braids are necessary with that setup. Don't give up on the polys yet. Good luck at the King of the Streets.

That's one of the reasons I didn't understand why we couldn't put braids on the MFC cars. The poly's REALLY benefit from those! I think we need to consider 'petitioning' the NTRA to run braids on the MFC's for next year! ;D Ron (Bondo)

Yes braids where in the tips. I felt I could try and run with out them to see if maybe it would be fine. Egale had got my top fuel the way it should of been before test and tune for me to do to the funny. I felt a difference in it when I got it back from you guys. I did everything I thought was done to my funny car also. I felt I had it right on the funny car and put the polys in. Also this is the first time messing with polys. They made both cars tighter. I did do a little more the the hole to see if it help but it didnt so I tought thats how they are to be. I think if I would of left them the same with out polys they would of raced better. I did how ever make it to the local 1/24 track and I found braids. But it was after the cars had been sent out to race. I just have to pick them up next time the track is open. I have read on here dont use radio shack braid.
I also agree with bondo about the braids not being on the MFC if it helps the polys.

Taz, there is a lot more 'thump' in the poly's when you turn the arm. They do normally feel tighter. You should feel my Neo Jeep that was match raced! Takes almost two hands to turn it! Ron (Bondo)

Hey Taz, Using poly's can create other problems. Especially if your putting them in an AW chassis. Have been told by several others that the AW plastic will not hold up to poly magnets. First AW I put poly's in sagged so bad it bottemed out on the track. Though others have said they had no problems. Check your clearence on test track. Arm sizing can also be an issue. Look at chassis floor after rmoving plate. Look carefully between brushes around shaft hole. If you see a circle around the hole (like its been polished) the spacer on the bottem of the arm shaft is being pressed against the floor. Probably causing overheating which only then exagerates any other exsisting fault.
Not sure of the exact strenght but poly's are about twice the strenght of stock mags. And should make anything faster. Reguardless of braids being used or not.
hope this helps ........... PC
