Bench racing at DCU last week the discussion came up on end-bell modifications. As promised, here are the mods that I do on my end-bells for MM/PS and Pro Mod. This modification allows more pressure to be applied on the motor brushes. This technique will wear out brushes quicker. I like using Wizzards replacement brushes. You can get 5 pairs for $5. Part #E20 STOCK G+ REPLACEMENT BRUSH & SPRING 5Pr Using a dremel with a cut off tool attached I added a slot on each side of the end-bell. I drilled a hole on each side where I made slots so that shunt wire would sit on top of the brush spring arm. The slots are to house the shunts. Installing the brushes Take a .008" pick up shoe spring and cut in half. After some slick maneuvering, cussing, few beers and a few more beers I ran the shunt wire through the hole on the side of the end-bell and through the cut spring. Assembled I drill holes in the pick up shoe holders and run the other end of the shunt wire through.

Very sweet. Couple of questions. Wiz no longer sells the replacement brushes. Do you run braids also? Or do the shut wires just rest on the p/u shoes? And do your front wheels on the mm/ps touch the track?

bummer, I didn't know they discontinued them. I know Scale Auto is working on a new end bell, not sure when it is suppose to be out.
My wheels barely touch, wire rest under the PU spring and PU shoe. I haven't had luck with braids, might have to revisit them.
