Not sure who has built one of these yet but I thought I'd share a little info on what I've found playing around between classes today.
I tried a 3 ohm arm with BSRT's Neo drag motor magnets and I was able to run a .35 at around 40 mph at Drag City. As I expected it topped out before half track. I then switched over to Level 10 poly mags and was able to run low .33's at over 50 mph. Gearing was 9/20 on both runs. I'm thinking Polys might be the way to go in this class with the 3 ohm armature restriction. I'll have to see if I have a 10T pinion and try the Neo's again.

I have built one so far and have poly mags in it, but don't be afraid to change tire size as well as gears.

I have all my parts just have not put it all together yet. I am hand winding two motors for this class. As far as tires mine are .475. I have neos and polys to try. This should be a real fun class.

Motor for Modern Funny car cannot be less than 3ohm, it can be custom wind, and have timing. Here is the link for the N3 Class rules which are being used in the M/FC build. Thanks for asking and hope to see you in the race. If you have anymore questions just ask. ninjatekprojects.com/rule$/Nline/N3/N3.pdf

I know it was posted that divorced front wheels are allowed. Do they have to roll? There is not much room to work with around the pick up system.

No they don't have to roll. I understand what you are saying. However it can be done. I do have mine setup to touch and roll.
