Great news for the upcoming Smoky Mountain event. Nick at SUPER TIRES contacted me and wants to sponsor the event. All racers will receive several new sets of SUPER TIRES with the return of their cars.   Old Mech has also stepped in and is sending in decals for all the racers. Thanks for your support, Dave |

NEW Super Tire banner arrived along with tires for all the racers. Everyone will get one set of AFX .474 drag style tires, along with your choice of AFX .490, .510 or Tomy .458 + decals. State your preference when you can. Winners will get bonus sets.  Again Thanks to Nick for the support. |

Very Cool, its nice to get some prizes sent to you after the Events, are there going to be any Winner/Runner up Trophies at this Event?? or awards for best appearing Car?? Back a few years ago we use to do this stuff all the time at Events.it was a nice gesture.

Looking forward to trying out some super tires. It's very generous of them to send prizes for the competitors. I'd like to add them to our links at the bottom of our home page.
Scott, it really is up to the race host if they want to give away awards. Trophies or box plaques cost money and not all of us have extra money to spend on these items. The program is designed so that cost are kept to a minimum which is usually $7 for the race host to return the cars priority mail which doesn't leave any extra money for awards. I agree awards are nice and some of the host do go out of their way to get box plaques or trophies on their own dime but it is not a requirement for hosting races.

Right but my point is back when we started it seemed to be alot of stuff and plaques being given away, but also Sponsors usually give stuff to be given away as well. but it is was it is I guess.to me it just seems we had alot more racers back then when racers were getting prizes and goodies back with their Cars. it added that level of excitement and fun to wanting to compete,just my two cents is all.

OK, I am back from the Florida pool tournament. Catching up on some questions it is nice of Nick at Super Tires to send us tires for all the racers, please thank him on his website when you get your tires.
Looks like the .490 tire size is going to be a popular size so get your request in early to guarantee a set.
Scottman, I remember some of the earlier races where there were gifts given but as Sam stated most of them came from the race host. There were also a lot more racers then some of which donated prizes. Seems like things are back on the upswing now with almost 40 entries already in the regular races and another 9 so far in the list races.
Thanks to Nick, Old Mechanic and myself there will be gifts at this race but there is no obligation of the race host to do so as in most cases it comes out of their own pocket. I enjoy running the races and do not mind spending a little to make the racers happy.
If you have never run a race like this you have no idea how much work it is. In my case it takes 3 full long days to do it, not counting promotion or packing and sending the cars back. It is truly for only those who are very dedicated.
ECBill: A best appearing competition can also be held if there is interest. If so the members of Nitro slots will decide the winner not me.

Thanks to Nicks generosity he has sent another batch of tires for the racers. There will surely be enough .490s to go around now with most racers getting at least 2 pairs.
Please thank Nick personally after you receive your tires and the decals he sent.

I added their logo/link at the bottom of our forum and home page. I found a set I forgot I had and I have to say, they are awesome. I'll be purchasing more in the near future.
