great pics. Gotta love ANYTHING "Sox and Martin" This reminds me I still need to do the ProStock category in the "classes of drag racing section." Once upon a time Stock, Superstock and then A/FX and finally Pro Stock were HUGE. Imagine a meet with 200 superstock entries! It happend at INDY.

great examples of ProStock spotting features. Notice the boxy hood scoop on Grumpy's Toy. That is typical of the original ProStock years, say 1970-1974. Next style is the snorkle scoop. The Trans Go Mustang and Bob Glidden's Mustang sport this style. Modern ProStockers all use the teardrop scoop like the last Mopar picture or the Castrol (cutlass?) just above. This scoop is also seen on SuperGas and SuperComp cars today.

Check with Mead Bros. I bet they could get you something. The red, white and blue Sox cars are some of the coolest looking ones.

The early pro stockers were actual production chassis modified with a roll cage and some chassis stiffiners. I think NHRA requires the back shell to still be some sort of production type shell. The engines were something you could buy from the factory, do some mods and go Pro Stock racing. Now a days they have little resemblance to anything you can buy from the factory.
