OK here we go....2018 NTRA Winter Nationals starts tomorrow morning. The tentative schedule Friday will List Racing and Match Racing. Bracket Qualifying if time permits. Saturday will be Bracket Qualifying if it wasn't done Friday and Bracket Race. We have a fantastic field of cars and it's going to be a great weekend of proxy HO drag racing. JLM said it best........LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUMMMMBBBLLLLE!!Only a few racers missing in this picture. But hopefully we get them filled. What a great turnout for the first race of the season. I hope everyone enjoys the race and we definitely want to see all of you back in April at Smoky Mountain Dragway!Bracket RaceAll cars will be qualified by running (1) run in each lane. Times will be posted for each lane and racers can decide what % they want taken off of their best qualifying ET and post it on the race thread. If no % is posted, an automatic 5% will be applied. Dial in will be calculated on the best qualifying ET. A random drawing will decide placement on the ladder.Example: - Car #1 qualified with .9325et RL / .9000et LL minus a 2% dial in would be .882di - Same car minus a 5% dial in would be .855di With the 5% dial in there is more room for error if the car picks up speed. The more consistent the car is the lower the % dial in can be used. The objective: To have your car run as close to the chosen dial in as possible without going faster. The more consistent the car is, the lower the % dial in can be used. The start is staggered the difference between the two cars Dial In. The slower car gets the head start. Example: If you dial in a .600 ET and your opponent dials in 1.000 he get to go .400 seconds before you. Then theoretically they should cross the line together if they have the same reaction time. It is a lot of fun to race this way and I found it tricky to wait when HO drag racing as you hear the other car leave and it seems natural to want to react and go. In the last bracket race I held the fastest car entered raced against the slowest in the final so any car can win.Good Luck to everyone this weekend!

Dang Vince you were starting to scare me! Good news...........thanks for the heads up. Cars show in Fort Worth today. OK you are back to scaring me now. Can you give me an update either tonight or first thing in the morning....or let me know the tracking number and I can see where it's at. If it's still showing in Ft Worth in the morning, it is not going to make it here tomorrow. If it looks pretty certain that it will be delivered tomorrow, I will change the race format so you will be in the List races. Fair enough?

Jeff I had the same problem when running a bracket race here. We had to practice waiting and not go as soon as the other car is heard. We also put a blinder on the tree which helped as you could only see your side of the tree. I ran some full size bracket races and it was not as hard there as I was focused on the tree and for some reason did not react to the engine sound as my car was also roaring at the time.

As a driver I kinda like having to hold for the green light. We will be using a blinder on the tree just to help get a better light. It will be fun. Getting ready to start eliminations now.
