Saw some Baretta die cast cars on eBay that Dave might find interesting. They are 1/64 scale Muscle Machines. The Baretta is called Big Gun and is a replica of Dan Nickelsons car. Ill bet bet you might be able to get one of our talented resin casters to duplicate one for you! Pic of real car.

Looks interesting Bill. My problem is I never learned how to paint these little monsters well.

Looks interesting Bill. My problem is I never learned how to paint these little monsters well. If somebody will cast it, I’ll volunteer to paint it. Of course it’ll have to be bright red!😎

I am more interested in a Pro Mod/Pro Stock look, so some modifications will have to be done. My vision is more along the lines of your Beretta Dave. I am going to pick up one of the die cast cars and see what I can do with it. I have found that almost always those die cast cars are too narrow for our use and need to be widened. The Beretta body is one of my favorites on the GM side of things and I don't know if anyone is casting one. Those are the projects I like.........the cool cars nobody is doing. I also want to do a 1993ish Warren Johnson Cutlass, but those seem to be hard to come by.

Let us know how you like these die cast cars once you receive yours. The Muscle Machine line as a whole tends to be wider than most 1/64 die cast. I haven't seen any of the Nitro Coupe series in person yet. Hoping they follow that trend. There are a few others in the series that might make nice slots: 37 Chevy, 33 Willys and 41 Chevy.
The research on Dan Nickelson's Baretta lists it as Nitro Coupe/Pro Mod. It seems like he ran it in the Super Chevy Shows.
Jeff, I'm not sure it they would be useable but I have a few NASCAR Oldsmobile Cutlasses from the 90s that may be a good foundation to make a Warren Johnson car. As I recall, he raced Pro Stock but don't remember how close to stock appearing the cars were in that era. If you like, I can pull a few out for you to take a look at.

When I get the Car I will look and see if it is wide enough for our purposes. If not it will be a part of my scenery.

They are also running similar times. Was not quite as bad when I was racing. The original Pro Mods actually looked like streetable cars but they allowed them to morph into something else. My car/chassis was original designed as a Pro Stock car back in the late 80s early 90s. It had a steel body on it, moly chassis, with a glass front and deck lid, I changed it to an all fiberglass one. The chassis was extended out to 110" which was the Pro Stock limit back then. Weighed only 2200 with me in it, less than a Toyota but a little quicker and faster.

Bill I saw that it is listed as more of a Pro Mod after I posted. I just want to get rid of the big funny car like wings on the back. A little more of a stock look. Pro Street or mild Pro Mod. I also did not realize that it had moving and removable pieces. I should get mine next week. I would definitely be interested in seeing what you have on the Cutlass.

Jeff, Is this the Cutlass you would like to make? Bill It's not showing the picture in the quote for some reason, but yes that is the one. One of my all time favorite Pro Stock cars......and I'm a Ford guy!

Here are are a few that I could dig up easily. Should be a few more. Wheelbase looks to be about 1.75". Last pic insists on being upside down even though not that way in the file. Don't seem to have any more of the Lifelike HO slot car Cutlasses. Those would have the width needed. I believe Harden Creek has some new ones.

Here's the Beretta that I cast from the Muscle Machine Bill mentioned. It's in 3 pieces and it's a very narrow body. Like Bill said all of the other Muscle Machine Pro Mod Nitro Coupes are wide but not this one. The wheel base is to long on this one and if I remember right the others are too. I cast this over a year ago and was going to widen it and shorten the wheel base and do a couple different versions but manley like Dave's more of a Pro Stock look. I don't care for the funny car spoiler to much. Jeff if you want what I've cast to modify I think I have a coupe cast up you can play with. I also have the WJ Olds you was wanting. You can have that to. I have about every drag related 1/64 diecast ? I have 1,000's of die cast. I'm always looking for that one I don't have yet. Jeff there yours plus The Roy Hill Probe, Allen Johnson Avenger and Eckman Firebird if you want them ? These all fit the 4 Gear chassis almost perfect. These are all on my to-do list some day ? This has turned into quite the thread! Do any of y'all ever find these type of diecasts in store front retail outlets? And if so, which ones provide the best selections?
