You sent an AFX Aztec dragster to race? The afx dragster went .339 at 48mph on 20 volts during testing Jeez man that's flying! I don't want to jinx anything so I will leave it at that. Good luck in the race!

Ran out of time on my Unlimiteds. The new build had some issues and not enough time to work through them. So I decided to run my original two FED's again. Found the problem that caused me to slow in the last race with the Blue/White Dragster. A spun crown. It's held with JB Weld all these years and finally gave up. In trying to repair it I broke the chassis . So I'm down to one Orange/White FED. Going to give it a tune up along with my List cars and call it good.

Well it was a sad night of testing for me. My cars will not be a threat unfortunately. They all went turd on me. I will run them anyway for filler if nothing else.

Jeff,
Sorry I will not make the race, there was a live unlimited pancake/inline race close by me this past Sunday and I had my cars at that race, I was hoping I could do a quick refresh on the 4g cars, but they needed more done so not enough turnaround time to fix and ship out.

That sounds pretty awesome! I agree with you on the smaller hole then it can be drilled to the size desired. Thanks Sam! I just put a .036 shim on the bottom of the plate to mesh up with a 20T crown gear, works great. View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentDon’t know why I didn’t think of that? No problem with arm being pulled up too high at the brushes? What did you use for shim material?

I use the taller Dash brushes 076 or V-notched 092 I have used Lexan and Carbon Fiber
PS. The chassis with the higher step works best since it has the brushes sitting higher anyway.

I use the taller Dash brushes 076 or V-notched 092 I have used Lexan and Carbon Fiber This is very good information on shimming the top plate and the taller brushes. I was already seeing a pretty sizeable gap between the com and the brushes before even considering shimming. Sorry to hear that you will not be making the race Steve, but if I had any local racing going on I would be doing that too. Maybe you can make the next one.

I sent 6 of my personal cars and they took 1st and 2nd in unlimited pancake (Raced by Sheldon Ross) and 1st in unlimited inline (Raced by Sheldon Ross and Tim Thompson, #1 Qualifier Sheldon Ross orange Camaro-Wizard, Tim won with my yellow Porsche-Viper), I let some friends run them for me, I was at the Chiefs game with my son, I built #3 Unlimited pancake (Tim Thompson) and #3 Unlimited inline (Jayden) for those guys some time back and rebuilt Justin's purple Camaro-BSRT that took #2 unlimited inline, his car previously ran 65mph at that track, I think he went 99mph also this time out after the refresh, what was impressive his car had a resin body and was pretty heavy like 26g vs 18g on my scale, he would have gone quicker and faster with Lexan, but still managed 2nd.
Track length full 1/4 20.750' 25v 20 amps Pancake track record .306@75mph (3g AFX) Inline track record .207@99mph, the car went 106mph right before qualifying, but only would run 99mph afterwards, I'm sure it needed a small adjustment, but Sheldon doesn't know unlimited, oh well still set a track record.
The shutdown wasn't that great and at least 3 cars were broken from hitting the end, one was my car that went .207 and I think the other 2 were cars I built and rebuilt for Justin Schlesener a Wizard and BSRT Nova.
