2022 Summer Slam

Summer Slam classes.

4 GEAR STOCK- 2 cars per racer max

Body will be racers choice.no lexan. We had some good ones last year. Two of the entries making a classic race of there own (Ghostbusters vs Mystery Ink).have fun with it,can't wait to see what this year brings.

14 ohm armature minimum (don't go crazy looking for a 14 I don't think you'll find one).

Ceramic grade motor magnets.

2 traction magnets. Added Magnets should be just in front of rear tires. Use autoworld 4gear as reference.

Original type electrical no braid or shunt.

Wheelie bars may be added.

.560 max diameter slip on rear tires.

INLINE SUPER COMP- 2 cars per racer max.

Body= street/strip ricer welcome. No lexan

2.4 ohm armature minimum. Custom winds ok. Must be single wire wind.

Ceramic or poly motor mags , no neo.

2 traction magnets any location.
Stacked magnets ok in same location.
This means if you have 2 traction magnets in place but they are to high. Instead of searching for thicker magnets/shims to get closer to the rail, you may stack on an extra set of magnets on top of existing traction magnets if it makes it easier.

Any gears, any electrical, any tire although were not looking for monster truck tires on the rear thank you.

List racing will be included. Shark pool open. 1 car in each class max(3gear/4gear)
New builders/racers intrested in the list racing feel free to reach out to me or fellow racers for list racing information.

Monster Truck Jam team will be returning this year for another run at the course.

New yearly class being added to Summer Slam this year will be..

Stock Tyco Motor Cycle- 1 bike per racer.

Close to stock as possible with the addition of wheelie bars.

Customizing/painting of bike changing the drivers head or the like is ok and encouraged to personalize your bike.

As stated this is going to be a yearly class for Summer Slam going forward so if you don't have one yet get on a bike and ride.

Grudge match racing is open. Grudge match racing will be at 20vdc. Any build rules shall be worked out among the racers grudge matching. I will tech to my best without taking anything apart. Any concerns I will reach out to the racer in question. If no reply disqualified.

All classes will be ran at 20vdc.

Cost of race is just return shipping of your cars.

Please include with your cars. A note with your info and small description of each car and class they are for. Also name of your car if any. Write down any special details you would like done to your car, such as an extra warm up pass or something of the like. I will clean shoes and tires before each race. Willie bar adjustment if needed.

Any special return shipping requirements, such as extra insurance please add on instructions note. I say please add on note because a text message or pm in here may possibly be missed.

Above post has been updated... Along with the rules above as far as weight let's just stick with the 21 gram neighborhood. As long as we don't have Swiss cheese chassis and bodies showing up I'm ok. No lexan bodies this time round. I will be running lexan classes in the future, but I want some time with the new track testing so I know I won't be tearing anyone's stuff up.

As far as list racing. List racing has its own set of rules that should not be altered by race masters. So new builders please refer to the list racing rules for set up and weight, ext. I am available for help in anything you may have concerns with. Just send me a message.

Also I have a new track we will be racing on. Viper drag track with rail height at .014. Now for those who have tomy/ autoworld track I can now tell you that the downforce on this Viper track feels double to tomy/autoworld by hand test. It's a big difference.

We have a timed area of 15ft 7.5 inches. 3 and a 1/4inch of powered rail after the finish. Shut down is 10ft 2inch of track followed with 7inch strips of steel stock (yes its spaced for guide pins). After that your just another brick in the wall. To aid in stopping the cars there is also a 2ft long catch box at the end. I'll post some pics in ALLEYRATZ RACING.

Lots of questions coming in on the motorcycles class. Just so we're all together on this one. I am adding this as a yearly class. I didn't expect everyone to go buy a bike. If you don't have a bike take your time and find one. We will be running them again. Don't rush take your time and personalize it. Lots of us need tires. It looks like they are 20 bucks for 6 sets I believe I saw on ebay. If we need 1 set why don't we just get the set of 6 and who ever needs them we can just split the cost.

If a bike don't have a rider sure I'll still run it. You should probably look for something cool to put on it though.

No I'm not looking for the bikes that have tyco 440x2 chassis under them. Sorry there's just to big of a difference there for me. Yes I know they are bikes but completely different animals.

Also as far as parts like shoes. If you have to make them I'm OK with that. Let's just not hang braid on them right now.

Honestly I'm not going rule crazy on the bikes. We will probably button down the rules in the future but for Summer Slam let's just have fun. We don't need to set records this time let's just get the intrest going.

As far as a bad armature. It looks like there is a rivit holding the body together over an engine cradle. Gnome you look at that?

We need to find a replacement rivit or something to take it's place so we can fix these things.

It seems like we do have intrest here so maybe we should start a thread for parts. If someone sees something possibly a couple could pitch in so we can keep cost down.

The rivet doesn't hold the bike together, if you remove the front tire there's little wire piece that you slide down. That along with metal piece that goes from side to side holds the the bike together. Once you get it apart the armature can be replaced by removing the plastic piece on the the back. If i remember correctly it may be a little shorter than a stock TYCO arm so some shaving may be involved. Additionally, the driver assembly acts as a clamp holding the bike together.
