Decided to add a VERY SIMPLE dyno to my work station. . Yes a very crude way to do a simple check on your slot cars. Higher the meter reading at a given voltage applied to the car the better? Would love to hear what you think. You can see it working on my YT channel jwmoor under simple slot car dyno. JW

I can dig it. Made a multi purpose box once. Gave readings , balance arms , sand tires. Anything I could think I made the box do lmaooooo...

Turned out the harbor freight meters were junk and that was the end of the box

Looks great, Steve. Before I try and fabricate one out of toilet paper cores, or pen bodies. 1) Where did you get the cool little dyno looking test plate? 2) Will it fit the new dragster bodies?

Yeah... What he ^^ said. Although, I am eyeballing the nice, straight Sharpie pen sitting next to me...

I just saw it on EBash for a mere $75. That pen is starting to look real good about now. I might look for a hotel style cheapie BIC pen. They have totally round bodies. Break-in bench provided by... Marriot Hotels. AND a spare piece of track. I already have a 30v/10A power supply kicking around here. It's nice that it has an amp meter built right into it.

Marriot pen! Man, you’re high dollar. I’d use an EconoLodge pen.

If you look closely. You can see where it really says "Motel 6" under the artistic Sharpie penmanship. Just don't tell anyone.

Ken, just like anything, what is the tool worth to your process? It is working very well for me for run-in, evaluating wheel runout and tire slippage at high RPM. Its about the same price as the RT-HO gear press. www.ebay.com/itm/274741019582At full extension it is not long enough for dragster bodies, not even the vintage A/FX types. The chassis has to come out of the body.
