Wait, what?
I copied the 2024 rules into my OneNote notebook on January 20th.
Pancake Comp and Super Comp were both 5.0 Ohms.
Who is changing the rules with no announcement or discussion and why?

We put a revision date on the rule page at our 1/32 road-race club so there's no question when/if things change. If someone happens to find an outdated set of rules by mistake. The date shows which one is valid.
Just a suggestion.

There is a revision date in the rules.
"Revised Rules 11/26/2023"
No longer matches rules page copied on 01/20/2024.

These are just a few friendly suggestions. 1) Logic says the last revised date should be the only valid rules. If there's no date. No one knows when they were made, or which rules apply. 2) Saving a set of rules on a desktop might prevent that person from seeing updates. I've made that mistake at my 1/32 club a few times. 3) When in doubt. Ask the boss. The boss is almost always right. 4) If you're still not sure. Refer to suggestion number 3.

Well I guess I am the guilty party and to be honest I don't even remember the exact details about why they were changed. As for the revised date......I am far from perfect and forgot to put the correct date. It says 2024 in two other places above that date. I just forgot that one. All I know is that everybody has their own idea of how the rules should be and they are not going to please everyone. There was discussion before the rules were changed, but no matter where the announcement is posted, it is not long before it is covered up by new threads and postings. My apologies to anyone affected but I get caught in the middle....like now. The thing is....they are ALWAYS good arguments and just like now someone gets their feelings hurt. So with all of that being said........ What do you guys want minimum ohms set at for Pancake Comp and Super Comp 5.0 or 5.5? Same for both? I don't need a big discussion just give me a number.
Speak now or forever hold your peace because I'm not going through this again. I will make a decision Thursday evening based on feedback. I will also save this discussion so that the next time (and there will be a next time) I will reference this.
Let me also say that I do not change rules on my own. I always confer with others before doing so and there is always reason for doing so in the first place. I do not have a specific group I go to but they are core group racers.

Comp = 5.5 Super Comp = 5
That way the faster crowd can make use of their custom wound armatures. The inexperienced builders can also make use of the OS3 armatures.

5.5 is fine.

5.5 is fine as the OS3 are normally only 6 to 6.6 ohm anyway, 5.5 leaves room for custom winds in Super Comp if someone wants to try and push the envelope and get to 5.5.

I'll agree with Ken on this. Comp at 5.5 Super comp at 5.0
edit to add: If it will keep a lot of you guys from having to rebuild cars to meet the rule change. I'm just getting my toe in the water here.

I like what I'm hearing so far. Thanks guys!
I want to use this instance to figure out a "standard" for rules changes. I have 4 or 5 core people that I will always confer with before making any changes. When a change(s) is made I will update the revision date on the rules post/thread and I will announce it on the marque at the top of the Main forum page. That way everyone will see it and it won't get covered up.

Comp = 5.5 Super Comp = 5 That way the faster crowd can make use of their custom wound armatures. The inexperienced builders can also make use of the OS3 armatures. This sounds good as it puts more gap between Comp and Super Comp levels. I am fine with wherever the group lands. @jeff, sorry, I work in FDA regulated industry so version control and undocumented changes trigger my work instincts. Your proposed rule change policy sounds great.
