John, here is a TJET version of the Ramchargers candymatic. This was one of the first drag versions of the '64 dodge 330 that I did. The chrome trim and chrome dodge emblems are printed in metallic silver ink so it looks pretty close to real chrome on this TJET body.

The "Dragon Lady" car, (or its clone) races to this day. Shirly Shahan's son campaigns the car at Nostalgia meets throughout the west.

Notice how many cars are painted white. Sponsors Loved the big bill board a Stocker provides.

White was also used since the underside of the car would be painted white too. The pits at drag strips back then had "horrible to none" lighting and anything you could do to help see after dark when working on them was a help. I knew people who would paint the underside of the car white no matter what color the top side was. No generators available back then so battery powered flashlights were the only lighting available to swap out that broken 12 bolt rear end. The white painted surfaces reflected the lousy lighting better. "Been there-done that!"

Great pics of one of my favorite SS cars.. Pete's Patriot!.. Car was built and run out of Kearney, Neb.. about 20 miles from where I live now.. When I was a Junior in H.S. buddy and I stopped by to look at it.. It was offered to me, (like a 17 yr old kid would have the money).. wish I could have bought it.. Chris

didnt know that bit of trivia. Leave to racers to come up with a simple solution. The American Motors AMX is an interesting beast. Two seats like a sports car yet it is considered a Stocker. Really a unique and cool car.

All these sweet AMX's latly, I just couldn't help showing off a couple from the Dog house. These were painted from the best photos I had, the Pete's car has some T Mead decals, the Drogon Lady would have as well, but I trashed them and had to use some others I had. The reason for the disclamer is, some guy tore me up on eBay cause I didn't get the blue on the rear right on the Dragon Lady car. He comanded me to remove it from ebay and repaint it. The Dog don't take orders that well, wasn't pretty. So if that guy is watching NANA NANA NANA this ones not for sale.
